University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest (UPB) is the oldest and the largest technical university from Romania, including 12 engineering faculties with 25,000– 3,000 students and 370 PhD students in Electronics and Communications and 3,500 people in the academic and research staff).
3CPS (Research Centre on Communications and Signal Processing), recognized as authorized research centre by the Romanian Agency for University Research, is focused on wireless communications and networks and on the corresponding signal processing.
Activity: (i) high education at bachelor, master and PhD level, (ii) research and development in telecommunications area
Between 2003-2007, 3CPS participated or is participating to the following FP6 projects:
ENTHRONE (End-to-End QoS through Integrated Management of Content, Networks and Terminals, IP no. 507637) and ENTHRONE 2 (IP no. 038463), www.ist-enthrone.org,
WEIRD (WiMAX Extension to Isolated Research Data networks, IP no. 034622), www.ist-weird.eu.
Moreover, 3CPS participated and/or or is participating to several national-funded collaborative research projects, as SIUM (contract. No. 80/2005) or national-funded applicative or fundamental research projects in the area of wireless communications and networks, signal processing for communications, propagation channels and service / application development for various communications needs. 3CPS-UPB is promoting the activities of NEM European Technological Platform in Romania participating to the collaborative support project “NEM-RO”.
