Romanian Mirror Group
In every member state of European Union are organized or being organized mirror groups.
The Romanian Mirror Group was made as a consequence of initiating specific activities at European level by the European Technology Platform ”Networked and Electronic Media” and by the involvement of an initiative group, which won in the III CEEX Modulus the project ”The integrated technology platform, in the «Networked and Electronic Media» domain, long term sustainable and connected to the European technology platform NEM”.
The initiative group is formed by:
• BEIA Consult International (www.beia.ro)
• The Academy of Economic Studies Bucharest (www.ase.ro)
• The Romanian Academy Library (www.biblacad.ro)
• Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence (www.racai.ro)
• University "Politehnica" of Bucharest (www.upb.ro)
The mirror group reunites the entities interested in NEM domain development, such as: profile industry representants (broadcaster, telecom operators, internet service providers, content providers, services integrators, equipments suppliers and manufacturers), representants of the scientific and research community, financial institutions, public authorities (regulator, policy maker), users and consumers, others.
The Romanian Mirror Group includes all Romanian institutions interested in NEM domain development, who express their adhesion in writing and contribute effectively to the Mirror Group activities, according to their competences.
In the European context, the Mirror Group objectives refer to:
-
achieve alignment between the National Research-Development Strategy and the Strategic Research Agenda of the European Technology Platform NEM;
-
achieve convergence between the internal market and the European market (technologies, equipments, services, applications).
On a national level, the Mirror Group objectives refer to:
-
development by the group members of programmes and joint projects;
-
development partnership with similar institutions from another EU countries;
-
get financing for joint projects.
The Romanian Mirror Group, as part of the European Technology Platform, adopts the Strategic Research Agenda defined at European level (acronym SRA). To assure convergence between the internal market and the European market, the Romanian Mirror Group will define the Strategic National Research Agenda (acronym SNRA, in NEM field). SNRA is complementary to SRA and is defined taking into account the actual stage of the NEM domain development in Romania and the national priorities.
Ideally, FP7 should finance SRA priorities, and the National Research and Development Programmes should finance both SRA and SNRA priorities. In the cross-country partnerships, financing should be done after the EUREKA principle.
